MOWEAQUA -- Sophomore running back Zach Jarrett kickstarted St. Teresa's offense in its win against Maroa-Forsyth last week, then did the same Friday in the Bulldogs' 47-12 win against Central A&M.
Jarrett started St. Teresa's 33-point first quarter with a 65-yard touchdown run, then finished the
starters' night with a 76-yard TD run as part of a 13-carry, 206-yard night.
"He had a great game and the offensive line played extremely well," St. Teresa coach Tim Brilley said.
Central A&M had touchdown runs from Ethan Woodard and Keaton Garner in the second quarter to pull the Raiders (0-3, 0-1 Central Illinois Conference) within three touchdowns at half, but the St. Teresa defense shut the door from there.
"They controlled the clock in the second and third quarters," Brilley said. "The defense had to adjust a bit, but we kept them off the scoreboard for the most part."
Also for the Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0), C.J. Stuart had 72 yards rushing and a touchdown, Patrick Althoff caught a 34-yard TD pass from Ryan Fyke and Jake Handley had a 21-yard touchdown run.
