KEYS TO THE GAME:
For
Maroa, Week 1 showed everyone that the post Jack Hockaday era won't
necessarily mean much of a drop off. New faces came in and posted 60
points by halftime. Tyler Ray accounted for 221 yards of total offense
on 13 plays. And the defense stepped up and posted a shutout – something
last year's state runner-up team was unable to accomplish.
For
St. Teresa, Week 1 didn't answer too many questions. The Bulldogs'
anticipated run game didn't amount to much early and Ryan Fyke was
forced to wing it 42 times. He did throw for 333 yards, but he also was
picked off three times. That's a recipe for problems as Maroa knows. St.
Teresa had four interceptions in last year's matchup, enabling it to
pull off the upset.
Tonight's game also will be televised live by WBUI.
